Dobřichovice to Černošice

So I ended up walking about 6 Km from Dobřichovice to Černošice along the river to take some photos and get some fresh air. The road led me thru a beautiful little valley full of summer cottages that have obviously been there for a long time.

Further downstream

As I walked along the river it got more and more beautiful. The road became narrow and so did the whole valley. There was a nice little fishing boat nestled in amongst the weeping willows and just across from the pub was an abandoned cabin. A stabbin' cabin nonetheless but in bad shape. I wonder who owns it. That would be a great little party spot!

Udoli Staré Řeky

As I walked further into this Cabin community I came across a pub and some more cute little weekend cottages. Then I went up the hill and got a good view of the train bridge over the Berounka on its way to Pilsen. At the end of the road was the sign at the entrance to the "Valley of the Old River"

Strange building

Apparently, this structure out in Dobřichovice was built like this on purpose. I like it. I think it's funky. Looks like it's sinking in the back. As if it is tipping over. Click on the photo for a close up and you can see how they made the floors inside.

Chaka the Husky

I've never taken pics of animals before really so I thought I would try with Chaka, my friends dog who I was looking after the other day. She's a cutey eh? Going on 13 and still a babe!

Black Baby

This is one of David Černy's black babies on display down in Kampa park. They are the same as the ones climbing on the Žižkov tower

Penguins in the Vltava

I don't really know what the hell this is all about but it definitely is an eye catcher this row of penguins down on the river in Kampa park. First shot looking downstream with Charles bridge in the background, second shot looking upstream with National Theater in back

Banditos Prague

Aran's establishment just below IP Pavlova serving up a great selection of delicious cocktails, Tex-Mex and all day breakfast. And if either Dutch Paul or Keith are working you get treated to classic punk rock to go with your enchilada seňor!

Old and New

This is a photo at IP Pavlova of an old building reflected in the new Price Waterhouse building. Or is it Toilette and Douche or whatever they're called?

IP Pavlova

A couple shots at IP Pavlova: 1st one looking up towards Nam Miru (sorry I didn't have time to set up the shot so kinda blurry but I got the number 11 tram going by) and 2nd shot looking down the hill towards Karlovo nam. Not many people around because it was around 8:30 on a Friday night and the city had emptied out.

IP Pavlova is named after Ivan Petrovich Pavlov, the Russian behaviorist who had a dog. I saw a cool cartoon somewhere where the one dog says to another dog, "watch, every time I slobber I'll make that old guy with the white coat start scribbling down notes!"

Off Chopin Street

Here are some shots of side streets off Chopinova including the first one looking towards the Žižkov tower. You can see some of David Černy's black babies climbing up the legs of the tower. Last shot is looking down Polska street towards Wenceslas square with Riegr park on the right. Third shot is side street off Polska going towards Vinohradska and up the hill is Slezska

Bits of Žižkov

A few shots of the edge of Žižkov and Vinohrady walking from Bukowski's on Bořivojova towards the beer garden at Riegrovy Sady. Late sun again giving some nice texture to the shots. The third photo is looking down Rajske Zahrady towards the Viktor Žižkov football stadium.

Power Lines to Nowhere

Couldn't really figure this one out; how they got the power lines to just finish there at this spot. Maybe there was some sort of underground grow operation!!
